Safiyanu Ahmed Yavala

Dr. Ahmed earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Food Science and Technology (PGFST) from the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria, in 2012. He had earlier obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, Bauchi State, Nigeria, in 2001. His academic journey also includes a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Food Science and Technology in 1994, a National Diploma (ND) in 1990, the West African School Certificate (WAEC) in 2009, the General Certificate of Education (GCE) in 1985, and a School Leaving Certificate in 1979.

Dr. Safiyanu Ahmed began his career at Faro Bottling Company Ltd, Yola, Adamawa State, where he served as a Production Technologist from 1990 to 1991 and later as a Production Supervisor from 1991 to 1992. He subsequently worked with the Nicon Noga Hilton Hotel, Abuja, between 1997 and 1998. In 2000, he joined the Federal Civil Service as a Laboratory Technologist with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), serving until 2001. Later that year, he transitioned to the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) as a Scientific Officer, where he advanced through the ranks and attained the position of Assistant Director, a role he held until 2018.

He transferred his services to the National Agency for the Great Green wall (NAGGW) as Assistant Director Planning Policy and Coordination Department (PPC) in 2018. He was promoted to Deputy Director, Resource Mobilization and Partnership Building Department in 2020. He served as Ag. Director of Afforestation and Land Management Department (ALM) from 2022 to 2023. He was appointed as Ag. Director Resources Mobilization and Partnership Building (RMPB) in 2023 and subsequently attained the rank of Director in the year 2024.
