Pius Emmanuel Ekomki
Pius Emmanuel Ekomki is a staff of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall currently serving as a Project Monitoring and Evaluation Officer with a passion for tackling environmental issues as they relate to transforming Nigerian drylands.
He has made positive contributions toward projects tracking and reporting for decision-making and provision of environmentally friendly activities in the sub-humid drylands over the years. He has administered the Adamawa State Field office as Field Officer, and also served as a Project Management Staff during the implementation of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and European Union (EU) supported Action Against Desertification (AAD) Project.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Jos, Nigeria. In his quest to foster professionalism in his career, he enrolled in the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy to study Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the Geography department.
He led the Nigerian Youth delegation for participation at the Green Youth Caravan organised by the Pan-African Agency of the Great Green Wall in collaboration with development partners that toured Senegal, Mauritania, and Mali in December 2022. He is presently working together with a Youth Volunteer Committee to translate the experiences garnered from the Green Youth Caravan which has led to the conceptualization of the NAGGW Youth Volunteers Programme.
